....You've never watched Dragonball or DBZ. Kid Goku was humiliated during his fight with Tien AND against one of King Piccolo's lackeys who killed Krillen in Dragonball. In DBZ, he was too weak to stop Frieza from injuring Piccolo and murdering Krillin before he transformed into Super Saiyan. Goku is also a character who lacks vanity which was part of the appeal to the humor of Dragonball, Goku was so pure of heart and literal in his understanding that it led to whacky hijinks.
